This is a picture I took on a family walk recently. If you look in the center, you see the silhouettes of my sons Kasy and Alex (oldest two), with the sunset in the background. The sunset is such a beautiful interpretation of God's work.

Long time no blog....

Life has been a bit hectic around here and I apologize for leaving my blog empty posted *hehe*

Our newest addition was born May 19th. She (yep, I said She, we finally have our princess!) was 6 lbs 3 ounces and 17 1/4 inches long. She is finally at 8 lbs at 7 weeks old and is just a little peanut! Here she is at 4 weeks :) She was born with a head full of thick dark hair!

I promise to try harder and get back into this. Having 5 kids makes "mommy" time a little harder to come by LOL

Summer

So does your family do anything special in the Summer? Any special trips that you take every summer?
We're wanting to do something but it all depends on how the delivery goes with our little one. If recovery is easy, then it'll make things a lot easier LOL

Another beautiful day!

Yet another day in the 70s with blue sky. I'm loving this weather!!!!

Yesterday I got the news that I failed my 1 hour glucose test. So now I get to go and do the 3 hour one. I have failed that dumb 1 hour test with EVERY pregnancy so far and gone on to pass the 3 hour LOL So hopefully I'm that lucky again!

A day in the life of a house full of boys....

7am, wake up, get kids up, have them get ready for school.
Get them off to the bus, clean up their mess, sit down for 5 minutes....
Today I had to go and do my glucose test at the hospital, so off I went to that.
Come home around 10am, my 3 year old is just getting up (Hubby was home). 1 year old is still sleeping (WOW! why can't they do this when I have Nothing to do?? LOL)
Feed the 3 year old, get him ready for school as his bus comes at 11:15am.
Get him on his bus, clean up his mess, and start cleaning the kitchen.
Noon, the 1 year old gets up (Seriously???? Why is it kids do this crap when daddy has to watch them and not for mommy? LOL)
Feed him, and continue cleaning house. Vacuum the floors, couches, clean the tv, dust, wipe down walls, sweep, mop, etc etc etc
2pm, meeting with Parents as teachers with the 1 year old at the house.
3pm, the lady leaves and I get 5 minutes to myself before kids start coming up.
3:15pm, 3 year old comes home, time for snacks.
3:25pm, 7 and 10 year olds come home, more snacks.
4pm, hubby gets a package. It's his new computer speakers! They so graciously packed them in a huge box FULL of packing peanuts.
4:20pm, We have the packing peanuts secure in the box, speakers, out, and hubby and I head upstairs to hook them up.
4:30pm (yes, only 10 minutes later), we walk downstairs.
This is what we get to see.....

Needless to say, the entire box of packing peanuts is no longer in the box. It's is now all over my living room floor, couches, dining room, tables, and kitchen.
To add to the joyful day, we wake up to the following note, written by our 10 year old. This is to inform us, that his 7 year old brother said a bad word. When we asked him WHEN this was said, he said "It was a long time ago, but I'm just remembering now, but he DID say it!!!"

Snow!

We haven't hardly had any snow this year. A few days but it didn't really last. Then Wednesday and Thursday of this week, we had 70 degree weather! It was beautiful! So we're thinking maybe spring is on it's way. Well, we wake up today and it's snowing!! We have 3 1/2 inches on the ground and we're supposed to get up to 7 inches by the end of the day! Gotta love mother nature *hehehe* My boys are very excited atleast :)

I chose to post a pic I took a few years ago of a Tornado just off the base. We had more severe weather come through here last night and it's just amazing to me. Watching the clouds swirl and drop, then going back up into the sky. What never ceases to amaze me is the beautiful blue sky that appears after it's all over, with birds chirping and the sun shining.

Madison Riann (3d pics :))

She is still 100% girl! We had an ultrasound done on Friday in Springfield so Scott's mom could go with us. Maddy wasn't shy at all about showing us she was all girl LOL She sucked her thumb, tried to suck on the umbilical cord, hid her face with her hands, and grinned at us. Those 3d ultrasounds are so amazing!!!!

Happy Birthday (late) to my son Alex LOL

Alex turned 7 on Sunday. I'm a little late posting this as we were out of town and it's been crazy the past two days. Here are a few pics of him growing and then his bday party here :) I can't believe my boys are growing so fast!!!!

For mine this week, I found this picture and wanted to post it. This was my two middle boys last summer playing outside. Watching my boys interact, and discover new things is so amazing. See how God has created these little minds and their interests they have. I can sit for hours and see the boys play, seeing them discover new things and trying things they've never done. It will never cease to amaze me how their little minds work :)

Flu season

Is anybody else getting hit hard with the flu bugs going around? My poor hubby has been hit the worst. He's had it twice so far! Two totally different ones too. Now my almost 7 year old came home from school this morning with another new one. This one the nurse said just makes you throw up non stop for 1 to 2 days with no other symptoms LOL Nice huh? Hopefully it's short lived in our house!

Save Small Businesses, (ie: ebay, etsy, etc!) From the new law!

I wanted to draw your attention to this important petition that I recently signed:

"Save Small Businesses from the CPSIA"
http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/handmadetoys?e

I really think this is an important cause, and I'd like to encourage you to add your signature, too. It's free and takes less than a minute of your time.

Vacations

Do you ever get vacations without kids? Just you, maybe with friends, or other people?
The last time I left my kids (other than to be in the hospital to have another baby LOL), was in 2001 when my hubby and I went to Hawaii for 9 days. At that point we just had one child and I missed him like crazy! The vacation was nice though :)
I'm getting ready to go for a week with no kids, no husband. And part of me is dreading being away, but the other part is anxious for the relaxing LOL No more late nights and early mornings (unless it's my choice).

My inspiration right now was seeing my little girl on ultrasound. It is amazing to me that these little babies in the womb are so tiny, but look so perfect. Watching them wave their hands, touch their toes, opening their mouths. The miracle of life is so incredible. To think that this little person is being created inside of me, with 10 perfect fingers, 10 perfect toes, etc. It just amazes me everything I think about it!

Baby it's cold outside....

This would be the one morning the boys miss the bus LOL We get up, get out to the van, and the van reads 3 below zero. Windchill is 20 below. I've heard of a lot of schools closing due to the cold, but ours hasn't (Can't say I'm not thankful LOL).
Anybody else getting this chilly weather? This is really cold for our area!

baby clothes

So what are your favorite stores for shopping for baby girl clothes? I've seen SO many cute things but really haven't bought much.
I know with my boys we shopped Old Navy, Gymboree, and Children's Place a lot LOL They do have some cute girl stuff too :)

We got the most wonderful news

We found out last Friday that we are getting a dream come true this May. Our first daughter will be born!!!!!! She was ALL Girl at the ultrasound. I cried through the entire thing, and continued to cry all the way to the car, and non stop for the next few days. I still have moments where it makes me cry! I cannot believe we have been blessed with a little girl after 4 boys. This baby is a dream and I cannot wait to meet her! We have wanted a little girl since our first was born, and God has given us what we have all prayed for. We could not be more blessed right now!
Here are her pics :)

I LOVED this picture! She has the cutest little face, and nose. I cannot wait until she's here!

All Girl!!!! NO Boy parts there!

Her adorable little feet crossed :)

Here she's looking right at you :) It's just her face, she's laying with her face turned towards you

Life

Life can get so hectic sometimes! I can't believe it's been 11 days since I blogged last! I really need to get better about this! (it's hard to do when I only have one person making comments ;) ) LOL

So how is life treating everyone so far in the new year?

Ours is wonderful :) Life couldn't be better right now and I am so blessed with a wonderful family and a wonderful life!

Hope everyone is staying warm this winter!

Happy New Year!!!

I still can't believe that 2008 is over! Last year flew by so fast! I do have to wonder what is in store for our family for 2009, other than the obvious new addition that should be here in May!
So what resolutions have you set for 2009? Are they the same as previous years? Or do you have new ones? Are you one not to set resolutions?

Mine are to be in good shape by next New Years. I will have 6 to 7 months from the time baby is born to get there, and I Know I can do it!
Hubby and I are also scheduling "family nights" atleast twice a month, but hopefully more. (We'll have more, but we are going to do atleast 2 where the kids get to choose whatever they want to do!). I think it will be fun :) We usually do stuff atleast once a week, but that's mostly movie nights, etc. The "family nights" can be going skating, etc. I'm excited to try it out :) I also want to schedule atleast one family vacation somewhere fun, even if it's just a day trip.
